Luke Hochevar, the No. 1 pick in the 2006 draft, had a tough go of it in his first start for AAA Omaha Sunday.
Luke gave up five earned runs (including three homeruns) in five innings. On the bright side, he did strike out seven.
Another top prospect, Tyler Lumsden, starts tonight against the Albequrque Isotopes.

Luke Hochevar, the No. 1 pick in last year's MLB draft by the Royals, pitched one scoreless inning in the Future's All-Star Game in San Francisco yesterday. Story.
Hochevar is not in the big leagues yet, obviously, unlike Andrew Miller of the Tigers and Tim Lincecum of the Giants, two players selected after him. Royals GM Dayton Moore acknowledges in this Kansas City Star article that Luke has "underperformed" thus far. He has a losing record, but is striking out a batter per inning, which is a great ratio. KC desperately needs Hochevar to succeed in the big leagues at some point, whether it's this season or next.
