Keyon keys Magic win

Keyon Dooling scored five straight fourth quarter points and helped the Orlando Magic beat the Detroit Pistons in game three of their Eastern Conference semi-final series last night. Captain Marvel is playing on a bruised knee, but he still contained Richard Hamilton defensively and steadied the ship after Detroit made a run. Game four is tomorrow in Orlando.

Keyon's blog has not been updated in a while. We have little to no room to talk.

TO is Dr. Dunkenstein

Dallas Cowboy Terrell Owens had a nice flush in the NBA Celebrity All-Star game tonight and he wound up winning the game's MVP award. The video is certainly much less disturbing than the last time we heard from him.

Shaq introduced in Phoenix

Sheriff Shaq

Shaquille O'Neal is heading to Phoenix and Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio is happy to see the big fella join the Suns, but not just because of what he does on the basketball court.

I'm glad he's coming out to my turf. I'm hoping we'll recruit him for our posse. Maybe we'll go after illegal immigrants and other crime.
Arpaio is famous for making inmates wear pink and making them pay for their meals and live in tents in the desert. Shaq has expressed more than a passing interest in law enforcement and has actually come into contact with Arpaio in the past:
Actually, I made him a colonel after he won the NBA championship (with the Miami Heat in 2006).

Rush scores 24, Pacers win

Kareem Rush scored 24 points in 28 minutes as the Pacers snapped a seven-game losing streak last night. Other good news for Kareem: his nba.com bio page has finally taken down the image of him in a Sonics uniform. But we won't ever forget his time with the club.

Indianapolis Star: Pacers finally find someone they can beat.

Neon traded to Phoenix

So long, losers.

Neon has abandoned ship been traded to the Phoenix Suns for Shawn Merrian and Marcus Banks. The trade will be finalized after physicals today, which, as Larry Brown Sports points out, might not be a gimme for Shaq.

Not only does this trade put Tim Duncan and the Spurs on notice it also makes the Phoenix department of power & light throw up a little bit.

The Western Conference playoffs have gotten a little bit more awesome in the past week. First it was Pao to the Lakers. Now this. What's next? LeBron to the Clippers?

China's Super Bowl

An estimated 200 million people (or twice as many to watch the NFL's Super Bowl) are gathering in China at 8:30 a.m. Sunday morning to watch the second NBA match-up between Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian.

Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel: China keeps ball rolling.

C-Webb returns to the Warriors

With Golden State set to welcome Chris Webber back to town 13 years after leaving it's the right time to post this old classic Nike commercial. The nostalgia is palpable: Webber when he could still jump, Spree before attacking a coach. Ah, the good old days.

Basketball under the stars

NHL hockey has been called a lot of things; trendsetter probably isn't among them. But after the success of the game in the snow in Buffalo last month comes news that the trend is making its way to the NBA, albeit in a more temperate climate. The Arizona Republic reports today that the Suns are probably going to be playing a preseason game outside next year. Steve Nash, peanuts, cracker jacks, the Gorilla mascot and the seventh inning stretch all at once. Can't wait.

KRush finds place with Pacers

Kareem Rush (with Luke Walton and two bunnies, above) was the Pacers' leading scorer on MLK Day, leading the team with 25 points on 10-18 shooting in Indiana's 110-103 win over Philadelphia.

Indiana is very pleased with his progress this season as the Star documents.

Now, if they could only get a picture of him in a Pacers jersey for his NBA bio page.
